I’m back home and ready to roll on this project. Manthos is working diligently on the panels and I’m reviewing them to start adding naration and dialogue. T-Shirts shipped within 24 hours of your order now and I’ll be receiving notifications of donations.
The following are via donations through our website on the donation button of the Products page, or through paypal directly under my account there: benjclayton@mchsi.com. Include in the notes which of the items below you are donating for!!! The offers will remain the same on kickstarter.com once we are approved there. We’ll make a post when that happens.
First, if you buy one of our current “A Chill In the Air” T-Shirts, you automatically get the $5 donation program benefit. (Add only $2 and get the $7 donation benefit, listed at the bottom of this blog.)
For a $5 donation, the writer will sign your copy of the graphic novel prior to sending it! (Unfortunately, unless you are in Greece, we won’t be able to provide signed copies by the artist for the foreseeable future).
For $10, the writer will sign your copy of the graphic novel and include a postcard sized image of one of the concept art pieces with your graphic novel order. The concept art we will be offering for postcards are: Patrice, Kathleen, Jeffrey, and of course Zombie.
For $15, we’ll put your name and a small brief epitaph of your choosing on a gravestone in the book. These will be very limited, probably only 5 or 10 and the epitaph’s will need to be approved (nothing hate related or otherwise offensive, and no brand names, nor web addresses, or email addresses, etc). If we get too many before we cut this one off, we’ll either upgrade you to a zombie or work something out with you. Our top priority is that every donor is happy! *Please note that the gravestone will only appear in part one or part two of the books, but not both.
For $20, we’ll take your likeness and make you a zombie in one of the two books! *Please note that your likeness will only appear in part one or part two of the books, but not both.
For $25, we’ll take your likeness and make you a zombie in one of the two books, and add your zombified self to a digital wallpaper made up of all pledges in this category for your desktop! This will be distributed to those people via download or email, depending on size.
For $30, we’ll do everything from the $25 pledge item, plus send you a poster sized print of the digital wallpaper! Actual poster size yet to be determined.
One final note - there is no release date for the first book yet. However, it WILL be getting printed and the cost will be comparable to existing graphic novels, possibly a little lower, and price depending on how much color we use. Some pages will be full color, but some pages may only have shades of color to give dramatic effect and enhance the emotional feel. The latest we are estimating book one to be out is early 2010.
The t-shirts are printed and I have received them! They look great and are ready for shipping. I wore mine today! 100% Hanes 6.1 cotton! Not those thin shirts you get from tourist stores! Shipping is only $6 in the U.S., and won’t change no matter how many you order. For international YouTube. Oh my lord, it ROCKS!!!
I’m thinking about adding a movie review tab to cover movies that not everyone knows about or sees, such as zombie flicks, b-movies, etc. Motel Hell, Diary of the Dead, Zombie Town, etc. If you have a movie coming out, feel free to figure a way for me to see it and I’d love to review it! I won’t do chick flicks, military films, straight drama, etc. I watch sci-fi/horror. I will make exceptions. There are movies that I love that don’t fall into those categories. You get to figure out what they are. =D
The t-shirts are printed and I should receive them tomorrow and then they’ll be ready for shipping. I ordered the materials for the zombie/corpse arm for Neil Gaiman’s yard. I have to add a vacuum chamber to the container to help remove bubbles from the final casting. We have a big announcement tomorrow, as long as Manthos’ computer keeps working. He’s been having reboot issues and not booting up issues. Keep your eye out!
No comments on the title! I’m still trying to convince myself…
Check out the updated flash log on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u3o725q_jI
The arm cast this weekend went ok, with some probems in the arm cast container having a leak and the need for a good scale. The face cast also went out, though would have been better had I that scale to get a proper 4:1 ratio on the alginate. More alginate is being ordered. Two different kinds. One for head life casts and one for such things are the arm cast for Neil Gaiman. I also found a new product recommended by the Smooth On folks for doing the outdoor cast. Woohoo! The pictures will b posted here eventually, but for right now they are on the LncArtStudios TwitPic page.
The t-shirt print completion date is scheduled for May 11th, so we are still on for shipping from us on the 18th! International orders are available, but for the time being you’ll need to email me to get the proper shipping cost before sending payment via paypal. The image is on twitpic, facebook, the youtube video, and deviant art.
So, the activity blog has the info on the t-shirts.
I’m sitting at work watching twitter and not feeling very motivated to do any coding. I worked a lot to try to get a preloader working for the flash logo that you see on the site intro page, but none of the code works. It shows the load at 100% and then goes on. So, I’ve let that go for now.
I am planning to mold my wife’s arm tonight and make the Smooth Cast 325 rotting arm. There will be pics here and on deviant art, once I get it the way that I like. Then I’ll get it to Neil Gaiman! Woot! I’ll probably cast a version in ultracal and work some stuff in on clay for version two, but that’s down the road. Lots to do.
My model is coming over tomorrow to get her head casted and that will going to UltraCal for mods.
Hopefully I’ll figure out what’s wrong with the register link on the site not emailing the password to peeps this weekend also so that I don’t have to set passwords and email them to everyone.
I approved the image for the t-shirts, and my rep at the print shop says they will be completed on the 12th, making the ship date from us sound doable! Get yours ordered!! I’ve seen that t-shirt prices are running around $18-20 so ours being only $14.99 and $16.99 for XXL is a deal!
The image on the products page is what it will look like minus the url being wrong, which was corrected this morning before I approved it.
I’ve also updated the latest of the flash video logo on the main page, which you probaby saw when you came into the site. The video is also available on youtube. I’ll get you the link for it at some point.
We’ll be posting the t-shirt image on our pages on deviant art this afternoon-evening, so if you’re on there, check it out!
I recieved the smooth cast 325 yesterday, so now I’m just waiting for Friday to cast my wife’s arm and pour the 325 to get the positive. If it all works out, I’ll be notifying Neil Gaiman with pics, that will be posted for all of you to view also. If he likes it, I’ll send it on out to him!!! I believe that he’s in France atm, so I have a bit of time to get it right.
I’m actually a bit torn. Should I cast the positive in ultracal and mod it so that part of the flesh is torn out revealing the muscle? That will take more time. Perhaps I’ll do that after I have the initial positive done for Neil. I don’t think that I have enough alginate to cast the arm, and my models head on Saturday and then cast the ultracal mod positive. I’m going to be reusing the alginate cast anticipating the alginate will shrink giving me more of a corpse look to the arm with molds after the first one.
We received the preview and after a meeting we decided for three changes to the shirt due to the limitation of colors. The shirt is lighter than our original, but we still think that the t-shirt kicks ass. Hopefully we’ll get the new preview today and be able to get the printing started. Once we have the approved preview, we’ll be posting it here, on deviant art and on facebook to let peeps know that they can start ordering.
I built the form to hold the alginate last night. It took a little longer than it should have due to some additional sealing that that I had to do. Casting will probably take place Thursday as long as I get the Smooth Cast 325 in by then so that I can create the positive for Neil.
Casting my models head and neck on Saturday I think. Still working out the scheduling with her for that.
